Supergirl....

That sums up in a word what I think of Natasha. She's such a bright kid. She comes up with stuff that just blows your mind. If she DID have a superpower, I'd say it's her endless creativity and enthusiasm. Everything is an ADVENTURE, and she's always taking us along for a ride. Natasha, you're our SUPERGIRL, and I'm damn PROUD of you.

"Eight Below"

One of Natasha's favorite film is Eight Below from Disney. It's based on a true story of a team of sled dogs that are left to fend for themselves while a team of researchers have to evacuate an injured scientist before they get snowed in.

Natasha just loves animals. I wouldn't be surprised if she grows up to be a veterinarian, or a wildlife expert :)

She knows all the dog's NAMES by heart. Let's see if I remember them correctly:

Max

Maya

Old Jack

Dewey

Truman

Shorty

Shadow

Buck

...whew! Yep, that's all of them. But for Natasha, it doesn't end there. I should be used to this by now but she never ceases to amaze me. In addition to those dogs, she includes our OWN dogs. And they are...

Kiko

Zazu

Adrian

...and what's so FUNNY about that is the fact that our dogs aren't sled dogs at all. Kiko's a MUTT, Zazu's a SHIH TZU, and Adrian's a CHIHUAHUA. Imagine that for a minute. These three oddballs with a team of rough and tough sled dogs...Never fails to elicit a laugh or two from me and my wife.

I'm pretty sure that Natasha will be coming up with stories about her and her team of "sled dogs" saved Batman or Naruto from the Abominable snowman, or how they were able to deliver a shipment of lifesaving medicine to young kinds in the middle of nowhere, AFTER getting lost in a RAGING blizzard.

Ah, Natasha. You're the best, and Daddy loves you :)

"Land of Dreams"...

Here's a short story, or POEM if you will, by Natasha. Well, I helped to smoothen it out. But this is all HER idea. Natasha has such a VIVID imagination it's AMAZING what she comes up with :)

Anyway, without further delay, here's her poem titled "The Land of Dreams"...

Every night before I sleep

My parents kiss me on the cheek

They say "We love you." and "Good night."

That's how I know all is right

I close my eyes

and off I fly

to my Land of Dreams

up in the sky

A land FULL of lots of things

from wise DRAGONS

to horses with WINGS

It's here I meet

my two BEST chaps

The Dark Knight, BATMAN

and SAMURAI JACK

We go on a quest

every time we meet

But tonight we face

an IMPOSSIBLE feat

AKU and The JOKER

are together tonight

causing trouble and fear

and also fright

"STOP THIS NOW!"

shouts Samurai Jack

"Who's gonna STOP us?!"

they shout back

"WE will stop YOU!"

Batman shouts

The Joker grins:

"What are you talking about?"

Finally I say

"Step back, Joker!

You too, Aku!

My name's R-Girl

And I'm NOT scared of you!"

Without pause

we jump in the fray

the three of us HEROES

saving the day

With the villains gone

and the danger past

the Land of Dreams

was safe at last

I looked at my friends

and said "It's been fun!"

and then I saw

the rising sun

I said "I'll miss you..."

and hugged them goodbye

then I started

to cry...

Batman and Jack said

"Don't cry, Tasha

we'll always be here."

They wiped my eyes and said

"No more tears!"

We walked until

we got over the hill

I asked "Will you be here next time?"

and they smiled "We will!"

I said "Goodbye!"

and covered my eyes

when I opened them

I saw the sunrise

My Mom and Dad

were there and asked "How was your dream?"

I said "Batman, Samurai Jack

and I were a team!

Samurai Jack

Did I mention she also likes Samurai Jack? Who would have thought? Anyways, Natasha's stories almost always consists of her, Batman and good ol' Samurai Jack. And as a tribute, I drew a pic of Bats, Jack and R-Girl. She'll go nuts when she finds out I drew this :)

"R-Girl..."

Natasha's a HUGE fan of Batman. ANYTHING Batman, and that includes his friends and foes. One PARTICULAR ally of Batman which she REALLY likes is The Boy Wonder himself, Robin. As a matter of fact, she likes him so much that she came up with her own sidekick persona. Having said that, I'm proud to present to you the one, and only, "R-Girl"!

Natasha's Dreams...

This blog is dedicated to my eldest daughter, Natasha Christine Trono. I did this because she's very special, in more ways than one.

See, she comes up with these wonderful stories about her and her favorite cartoon and fairy tale characters going on some grand adventure. To listen to her is just the most wonderful thing, mainly because of the ENTHUSIASM with which she tells these stories.

Naruto, Batman, Samurai Jack, Goku, you name it. She knows them all, but as other kids' adventures with their favorite heroes end when they close a book or turn off the TV, her's is just beginning.

This is for you, Natasha. I love you so much, and Daddy and Mommy will always be there to join you on your adventures.
